I totally agree with most of your analysis. The one aspect of this that is troubling for the incumbent (Obama) is the need for the Democrats to fall in lust or love with their candidate in order to fall in line behind and support him. For many Democrats President . Obama has not lived up to their expectations since 2008. And so far at least based on the current trends in poles they are not behind him 100% this time around. It is in that analogy where the Republicans difinately have the edge. They (Republican base) do not have to love Mitt Romney to fall in line behind him. It is their communal hate for President Obama that unites them and will get them out to vote for Mitt Romney who they despise and do not trust. Bu they just hate President Obama more.

Yes, Thank you for this. I think too many folks are unaware that there is a pretty good chance this guy could become president. The thought of Romney in office terrifies me and with the voter suppression and other such evil tricks, it's disgusting. I can't even wrap my mind around it. This is a good reminder of how serious things are getting. Obama may be a disappointment in some ways but "Mittens" to me represents the worst of Bush/Cheney, and I can't shake that rich racist cult background he comes from.

We have been reiterating the dire need of voter-turnout. Even with Obama’s edge, the difference is too close in contrast for the ongoing fight for the “needed vote” from key battleground states. The voter-turnout within the battleground states are going to be a greater challenge than 2008 was with the new i.d. laws. Voter suppression is the main focus and the GOP is relying on its efforts to disenfranchise eligible voters. To obtain a government-issued identification will for sure make voting difficult for some elders and younger adults. To combat GOP new tactics, we have started here the first of the year to ensure eligible voters are aware of these laws. Voter registration drives and early voting did significantly influenced Obama’s first election here. With Romney’s close polls state results and key battleground states’ tug-a-wars, we don’t want to technicality to claim the re-election. So we are looking at other strategies besides the norm as well to re-incite Obamamania. Thank you for this article. I will pass it along.
