The Game Adds Newcomer Jay Ellis to the Cast to Fill Pooch Hall’s Spot
The folks over at BET are working overtime to sure up the cast for the sixth season of The Game. Yesterday ATL star Lauren London was added to the cast as Kiera, a former child star who is currently filming a “Cosby-esque” show, and today the network announced that it’s adding newcomer Jay Ellis to the show.
Ellis will reportedly play “a running back and the No.1 draft pick from an Ivy League school who is highly educated and often the smartest person in the room. But even though he is bright, he is still a young man who has a lot to learn about life, love and himself.”
According to Shadow & Act, Ellis is relatively new to the business, but he’s had several small roles on shows like Grey’s Anatomy and The Bold And The Beautiful.
While it remains to be seen how fans will react to the show now that Melanie and Derwin are gone, I’m glad the show’s creators are taking a chance on some new blood.

The only, only, ONLY reason I ever watched the Game was to see fine ass Derwin and Mel’s nonsense! Tasha Mack/Pookie and Malik/druggie model chick relationship drama is not enough for me. Maybe Jason Pitts/Brandy will be tie me over until my favs come back….because they will be back. Negroes will boycott AGAIN! lol.

It would also be nice if they got rid of their writers and replaced them with some better ones. I like the Game, but I’m barely holding on with the foolishness that is being spewed out of the characters mouths. I need Tasha to stop being so ignorant, and Malik to get it together and Pitts and Chardonnay to have a better story line. Overall just get it together BET!!!!
i’m with you, it wasn’t the actors it was the material. Folks saying they have the same writers they had on the UPN/CW is ridiculous. One of the writers made an appearance on tia and tamera’s show and that said it all for me, late 20s black male. And the dialogue, situations and overall quality reflected*childish,black woman bashing, chuvanistic ect…*! Pooch and Tia were the reason the show began, I really don’t see it being viable without them. Too bad for this handsome young actor, nobody wants to play second string to an old cast member but honestly that’s exactly how it’ll look. Check the title of this article if you think I’m lying.
Yeah I’m looking forward to the new additions. The game is still salvageable. I’m kind of glad Melanie’s gone. She was getting way too boring and it seemed like Tia was no longer putting her all into the character compared to when the show was on the CW. I just need the writers to stop with this Jason and Chardonnay foolishness and let Tasha be happy with Rick! And please let the rehab model chick go! Who told them that was a good storyline?
