We’re Not Joking: NeNe Leakes Says That BBW Has ‘Gone too Far’
In an interview with Sister2Sister Magazine, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes said that the women of Basketball Wives are unprofessional and out of control.
“The truth is the truth. It has just gone too far. Too many fights, my God!” said NeNe. “[RHOA] don’t do that. We definitely have had our verbal fights, but never physical fights. I can’t believe the fighting and the bullying. It looks bad. It really looks bad.”
In addition to them embarrassing themselves by acting like they were raised by a pack of wild wolves, Leakes says they are not being strategic about potential business possibilities:
“They can’t want to do too much in their careers. A good ole argument, everybody likes that every now and then to tune into, but you couldn’t be trying to have too much in your career because that stuff, it don’t work. You can’t represent a product and be that way. That just doesn’t work.”
NeNe makes $1,000,000 per episode to stoke drama on RHOA and it has done wonders for her business. From Celebrity Apprentice to a recurring role on Glee, she has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that being controversial pays the bills. It’s really interesting that she feels comfortable saying that anyone “looks bad,” especially when she and Star Jones made the media rounds bashing each other so they could “cash those Trump checks.” Ironically, her Celebrity Apprentice nemesis also spearheaded the backlash against the Basketball Wives because of their aggressive antics. So what exactly does this new found maturity means? Has Jones, who was also involved in an all out media brawl with Barbara Walters, and Nene all of a sudden become the standard for how reality television should be done?
I think not.
Granted, there should be certain lines that aren’t crossed – and physical violence is definitely one of them. But for someone people, Nene and Star’s antics are no better. You can’t just cash in on ignorance, then chastise the women who come after you without acknowledging that you helped to create the playing field.
With all due respect to Ms. Linnethia Leakes, she needs to have an entire row of seats.
a million an episode??? i need proof its professional actors who don’t get paid that much to do movies and sitcoms….and um the kettles calls the skillet black again
I’m pretty sure she only makes 1 million a season not per episode. This is some pot and kettle s*** for real. Star Jones, NeNe Leakes, Tami Roman are all some clowns. Lets not act like NeNe is so successful because of her talent. We all love an angry, loud, black woman to entertain us.
