5 Hair Removal Tips Every Woman Should Know

3. Exfoliate.

One of the best ways to avoid irritation and have smoother skin after removing hair is to exfoliate. You can exfoliate pretty much any part of the body. By doing so prior to a spa visit or DIY  treatment, you’re prepping skin for the hair removal process.

Your bikini area is usually the most prone to ingrown hairs because the hair down there is usually more coarse than other parts of the body. You can use a gentle scrub to exfoliate skin a couple of days before waxing or shaving to alleviate that problem.

  1. @Samira, I still have a few. I tried dark spot minimizers, fade creams, but I was scared that those products would damage the layers of my skin so I stopped… The more you shave, the bigger the pores get because the hair grows back thicker, so waxing/hair removal products nair, veet might be an alternative (if you don’t already do so).

I use natural shea butter as a moisturizer. My face and scalp are pretty oily, but everywhere else is dry. So shea butter works for me. Yes, the smell can take some getting used to, but it’s natural and reduces the amt of chemicals that I’m applying right after waxing/shaving.. also it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day.

  2. Ugh, the first time I used nair I applied it from ankle to hip without doing a test patch. The allergic reaction that resulted was *hell* Definitely test. I’ve used other brands and gotten through without the reaction but they’ve never worked well for me. I’ve developed an understanding with my razor but I always exfoliate my legs. Best for me is just some baby oil and baking soda (rub gently, it’s strong stuff). I feel smooth and soft and there’s no post shave drying

  3. Hair removal is a daily a part of most men’s lives, particularly when working in industries that need a clean-shaven or well-trimmed face, for example business or hospitality. All those hours spent in the club seem to be a bit futile with this hair covering up what ought to be a proud display of ripped and well-toned muscles. Hair removal has become gaining popularity without much fuss.
