3. Don’t pull braids too tight.

I can’t stress how important it is not to pull our braids too tight. I know you’re probably eager to pull your braids up into a flirty topknot, and I’m not saying you shouldn’t. But traction alopecia is real, and pulling hair around the circumference of your head could lead to permanent hair loss. Don’t be afraid to speak up and advise the person who’s doing your hair if it’s too tight. Also, give your hair a couple of days before you decide to pull it up into a ponytail. Your edges will thank you later.
