Your and Lupe’s spot on observations re Obama and the threat that he and the PRIVATE intereste he represents pose to the American people and the rest of the world – are a breath of fresh air.
Those who continue to side with this homicidal maniac out of blind (racial) loyalty will find themselves coming under increasing pressure (from those of us who are waking up) to justify their support for a man and administration who have comprehensively failed to deliver on any of the campaign promises that got them into office.
Having cynically appropriated the public mood for CHANGE into a campaign slogan, all we’ve gotten is the slogan and no CHANGE. A government that is even more rapacious abroad and authoritarian at home, than we saw under Bush 2.
So if we can find someone well informed enough to explain why we should support a president and government with such a poor record – then I’d like to hear from them.

Lupe has the freedom to get on any plane and live as a devout Muslim in any one of these countries that he is so quick to defend and yet he is here soaking up all of America’s freedoms, including the one to speak disapprovingly against the country’s leader, which he would never be able to do in any country where Islam is the law of the land.
So, we have to the “freedom” to criticize the government until we actually do criticize government, because when we are critical of government it’s -
‘get out if you don’t like it’.

I thought free speech was defined as a constitutional right for the exact purpose to be a check on government abuse of power. Freedom of speech is supposed to allow us to raise our objections to questionable government policy.
Furthermore, the reason people don’t enjoy freedom or freedom of speech in many parts of the world is the West’s hiring of dictator hench men, eg Saddam Hussien, to keep the populace obedient. The West arms and equips its puppet governments to suppress the people and dissident voices, by force.
In America obedience is acquired by PROPAGANDA, not violence. You have the “right” to have and speak the opinions you are fed by propaganda outlets (like this one) that work night and day to MANUFACTURE your CONSENT to america’s domestic and foreign policies.

The manufacture of consent is the reason people like you can reconcile two contradictory ideas – and not see your own contradiction. You boast of america’s freedom’s and tolerance, but tell people who are critical of some feature of american life that they should go somewhere there is no freedom of speech or tolerance.
You are proof that opinion in America is just as circumscribed as that in the most UNFREE parts of the world.
Personally – I believe that freedom of speech depends of freedom of information. Speech is useless if it’s UNINFORMED AND UNCONSCIOUS like YOURS.
