I remember HBO was the first network to give legitimacy to the fashion world and models in particular. Like any non-corporate lifestyle…America is always late when recognizing the arts of any kind.
The Ebony Fashion Fair brought fashion to the masses. Bringing the catwalk to everyday consumers did a lot to change the mindset of what fashion is. I believe blacks are responsible for the American fashion crazy that we are now in; Eunice Johnson to Tyra Banks…..open the fashion world to everyone.
I’m not into models & such, but this is definitely an interesting angle. If I watched TV I’d consider tuning in.
