Fans of masstige collections (designer lines for mass retailers) have a reason to celebrate. Target, Neiman Marcus, and the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) have joined forces for the mother of all collaborations.

The limited-edition holiday collection, which hits Target and Neiman Marcus stores and both their websites on December 1, will feature these CFDA members, including Tracy Reese, Diane von Furstenberg, and Marc Jacobs:

Alice + Olivia
Altuzarra
Band of Outsiders
Brian Atwood
Carolina Herrera
Derek Lam
Diane von Furstenberg
Eddie Borgo
Jason Wu
Judith Leiber
Lela Rose
Marc Jacobs
Marchesa
Oscar de la Renta
Philip Crangi
Prabal Gurung
Proenza Schouler
Rag & Bone
Robert Rodriguez
Rodarte
Skaist-Taylor
Thom Browne
Tory Burch
Tracy Reese

Can you imagine the lines outside both stores when this line debuts?

The coveted collection will be comprised of women’s and men’s apparel, children’s clothing and accessories, electronics, home goods, sport goods, and accessories for pets.

And to bring the collaboration full circle, Target and Neiman Marcus will donate $1 million from the proceeds to the CFDA.

Are you excited for this line, Clutchettes? Do you shop masstige collections in general? If so, what’s been your experience?

  1. I am a Target shopper. I have never shopped at any of these designers before.

Perhaps marketing with Target it maybe less expensive.

I’m an avid Target shopper and I L.O.V.E Diane von Furstenberg and Tracy Reese dresses, but I’m ambivalent to this news; am curious to see if their designs will match those sold in high end stores and what the prices will be but I won’t be purchasing any items.

  3. Just my luck- the year I’ll be back and school and jobless, two of my favorite designers do a collaboration. Tracy Reese AND Marc Jacobs?!

Man, Target is getting more expensive every year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they spin off their different departments into stand alone stores one day.
