“True Blood” Recap: “In the Beginning”

True Blood

  1. I am new to the show and thought I was doing a fairly good job keeping up until last night with the whole Authority/Sanguinista set of events taking place. The smoke monster plot should have come to an end already. I am tired of them sucking up precious time from the rest of the storylines that I actually want to watch. Feels like a story on the old soap opera, “Passions”. It would be interesting to see how Godric’s presence affects Eric with this new takeover coming into play. Seems to me like he is the only one that knows better and he has work cut out for him if any changes are to be made. I hope Sookie decides to keep her powers and if she does perhaps her and Eric will work together again. Tara looked pretty good in her scenes if I might say so myself. I felt bad for her having to be disowned but it was nice to see her and Pam have a heartfelt moment.

Sam on the floor was definitely a funny scene. I loved watching the wedding video and you are right, it gives a feel of unity that I don’t see too much on here anymore. Oh and I’m pretty sure Luna’s child still has that vile of blood but I could be wrong. Her consuming the blood, now wouldn’t that be a mess? I’m ready for next week especially if it means an end to the smoke demon.

  3. Where would True Blood be if it weren’t for Russell? His character has to be one of my favorite villains from the show. Though, I have to agree my favorite moments from this week were the quieter ones. Arlene’s wedding video was a nice reminder of how much has changed in just a few seasons. I was so upset when I thought I missed this episode the one time I forgot to program my DVR, but luckily my Dish co-worker and fellow True Blood lover reminded me about Dish Online. I was able to catch up on the episode before anyone could spoil the brief, but sentimental return of Godric.
