“People who consider themselves victims of their circumstances will always remain victims unless they develop a greater vision for their lives.” –Stedman Graham

How do you see yourself? Do you think of yourself as a resilient person, able to take on any challenge that comes your way, or do you think the world is always picking on you and aiming to beat you down?

Depending on how we see ourselves, we can either be a victim or a victor; the choice is yours.

We all know life is not fair. Perhaps your family wasn’t so loving or you experienced a traumatic event in the past. While those things can certainly shape how we act and who we become, they can either propel us into being fierce advocates for ourselves or they can keep us trapped and paralyzed in the past. Yes, bad — sometimes horrible — things will happen. But we make the choice to overcome them or be crushed by the experience.

Choose to be a victor, Clutchettes.

Happy Tuesday!

@ Rochelle…. there but for the grace of GOD!
People make mistakes and or have lapses in good judgement but those same mistakes are opportunties for them to learn and turn their tragedies into triumph. For alot of people experience truly is the best teacher, it doen’t mean that they are less deserving of compassion or that people with different experieces are smarter or better. Folk that are stuck in negative patterns however need prayer, prayer for recognition of that pattern and the will to break it.

Anyone can be a victim of circumstance ‘coz shit can happen. But like Eleanor Roosevelt said: no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. So goes for being a victim. Anyone can lose a house, end up in a bad marriage, and so on….we’re humans and we make mistakes. But no one is a victim unless they allow themselves to be stuck in such situations instead of taking a more productive approach to life and finding a way out of the hell they dug themselves into.

Just like anyone, I WAS a victim and MAY be a victim in the future….but I will continue to REFUSE to stay that way and rather hurdle my way to becoming a victor.
