You forgot – Pastor and Church anniversary. It irkes me collections are taken for this which has nothing to do with holistic ministry to the PEOPLE AND COMMUNITY! In this category you could say frivolous offerings/celebrations that celebrate things that have ZERO to do with ministry. I ain’t givin JACK for pastor or his wife for their birthday! You got a salary so handle that….
Also, “100 WOMEN IN….” often it’s white. But again…this is saving folks how…..
Then we have the what I call “I GOT FIVE ON IT”. This is where a church leader gets up to talk about what bills need to be paid or whatever and starts saying< "I know ten people got $20…." Often this is illustrated by them giving a piece of money to start it off.
The "MAKE IT RAIN ON PASTOR" – where folks began to toss money into the pulpit, often at an emotionally charged moment.
LET ME TEACH YOU TONGUES 101 – The Holy Spirit calls it so please don't teach me "how" to do it….
Last but not least the 100 PRAYER LINE. This will most likely happen when a well-known preacher is there and some see them as having the magic touch or a private line for God to answer prayer.
