I came across Basketball Wives quite by chance while I was flipping through channels, and decided to watch to see what it was all about. Couldn’t believe what I was witnessing when the physical fighting started. And, I could tell that it was business as usual for this show by how long it was allowed to continue without production stepping in…in other words it was gratuitous violence. It also floored me that women of their socio-economic status would allow themselves to be seen behaving in that manner. Reminded me of an old saying that says you can take the people out of the gutter, but you can’t take the gutter out of the people. That might not necessarily be true every time, but in the case of Basketball Wives, the shoe fit. I flipped the channel, and never looked at it again.
Simply put, VH1 pulled the plug on the show because “it was a smart business move” ..Negative publicity, especially related to a domestic violence matter could severely DENT their dang revenue!!!
