Diggy Gets an ‘Entourage’: Will You Watch?
Aside from the recent departure of Tracee Ellis Ross from the show she headlined, Reed Between the Lines, BET has been on a roll with its most recent fall lineup announcements. They’ve got Gabrielle Union headlining a sitcom, Kelly Rowland starring in her own scripted series, and now, they’re jumping into the semi-autobiographical dramedy game with a show modeled on HBO’s Entourage, starring Diggy Simmons in the “Vincent Chase” role.
According to Shadow and Act, the show will be produced by married TV hitmakers Mara Brock-Akil and Salim Akil:
Currently untitled, the Diggy Simmons project is described as a fresh and edgy look at Diggy Simmons, his life as a blogger, and the close group of loyal friends who hold him down on his rise to the top.
The scripted series will reportedly have an Entourage vibe to it, with Allen Maldonado (as Diggy’s character’s best friend Manny), Teyana Taylor (as Diggy’s character’s ex-GF), Chris Brew (as Dot, a tech geek, and childhood friend), Bria Murphy (as Manny’s girlfriend), and Stephanie Charles (as Sheri, Dot’s ex-girlfriend), all co-starring.

no.
Cosign that!
For clarification is this the Simmons boy who is rumored to be on the DL and already has a rap for solicitation
errrrm, I really don’t know. My no, was because he is too young for me, can’t relate. Bless his heart!
I will definitely be watching. I like looking at young African Americans on TV. I was also a fan of Entourage. Should be interesting.
I won’t be tuning in however I think this may be a positive show for the youngins. I hope it does well.
Why are these older girls playing these young boys girlfriends? I’m sure their faces will be painted and they will be scantily clad. Where are the roles for young girls to play young girls?! And we wonder why young girls try to dress and act like women.
