Visit in May or early June and you will be fine. The people, however, make it unbearable. The majority of the moneyed black folks left a long time ago. All you have now are the posers walking around with their Harvard rings and sweat shirts looking down on the rest of us mere mortals.

I got hooked on the Outerbanks in NC. Salvo and Rodanthe, NC. Never crowded and the beches are the bomb.
