The news of Tichina Arnold’s happy nuptials this past weekend put us in great spirits. It’s her second-go-round, her first marriage having yielded her a daughter who she’s been single parenting for a number of years now, and she seems over the moon. The veteran stage and TV actress wed college basketball coach Rico Wells in Honolulu. Seventy guests were in attendance, reports Essence.

We all know how hard it is for Hollywood folks to make a healthy go of relationships, with paparazzi and gossip sites baring every detail of their lives. But every once in a while, a pair manage to make it through the gauntlet of invasive press and outside influences to find long-lasting love and devotion. Tichina Arnold has always been one of those actresses I’ve wanted to see happily coupled. Maybe you have a few actresses about whom you feel the same. Here are some of our picks:

1. Kimberly Elise

After divorcing her husband of 16 years, Maurice Oldham, in 2005, Kimberly Elise briefly dated Shemar Moore. But since then her romantic life has been pretty quiet. Her first husband, the father of her two daughters, passed away in 2007. Five years later, it would be really nice to see Elise take to the red carpet with the glow of new love on her face.

2. Anita Baker

Another divorce veteran, Baker has been vocal about the toughness of her marital split on her and her sons. Anita Baker is like your really cool aunt who’s seen and done it all and who you’d love to see strolling off into her twilight years with some dapper silver fox.

3. Tracee Ellis Ross

For about a year, Tracee Ellis Ross has been romantically linked to singer Akon’s younger brother, Bu Thiam. The record exec is 29; Ross is 39. Though they’ve been pretty lowkey about it, they seem pretty happy together. It’d be cool if this were the real deal for them both, as neither have ever been married. Last year, there were rumors that Ross’s iconic mother was against the relationship, since Thiam’s Sengalese family advocates polygamy. But it hasn’t seemed to derail their ‘ship. Perhaps time will tell if they can navigate the choppy waters ahead.

4. Taraji P. Henson

Most recently, Henson was rumored to have been dating Michael Ealy (though Ealy denied it, claiming they were just friends/co-stars). She’s also been romantically linked to Common (pre-Serena), John Singleton, Hill Harper, and briefly, in 2010, Drake. Stylish, adorable, funny, and ridiculously talented, we really want Taraji P. Henson to meet her match. Fingers crossed, girl!

5. Garcelle Beauvais

Beauvais, best known as “Fancy” from The Jamie Foxx Show, faced a high-profile split from her philandering husband Michael Nilon in 2010. She famously sent an email to Nilon’s friends and colleagues, notifying them that she’d discovered his affair. The couple are parents to four-year-old twins. Beauvais has since expressed the deep betrayal and shock she felt at the end of her marriage, so it may be slow-going for her, returning to the dating scene. But when she’s ready, we hope she finds someone fantastic (and faithful).

Which black actress’s happily ever after would make you happy?

I would like these women to continue to have successful careers regardless of whether or not they are single or married. Congrats to Tichina Arnold but I miss seeing her on television. She is super talented.

Um, she is on television. She’s a regular on Fran Drescher’s show on TV Land.

    Sanaa, Kerry Washington, Nia Long.

I agree about Sanaa and Nia. I’d also throw in Tamala Jones.

Congrats to Tichina. I missed the bulletin, had no idea Anita Baker was divorced. How do you divorce a woman who professed in a song to give you the best that she’s got?! Wowza…
