Wyclef Jean made headlines recently with his new memoir Purpose, after he purposefully disclosed details about his affair with Lauryn Hill and alleging that she lied about the paternity of her first-born. Wyclef stated that the lies led to the breakup of The Fugees and caused irreparable damage to their friendship.

Although Lauryn Hill has yet to make a statement about the allegations, the father of her children, Rohan Marley, has taken it upon himself to set the record straight. Rohan called Wyclef’s accusations bullshit and a money-making ploy. “He knew from jump that was my son from the day [Lauryn] was pregnant”, is what he told TMZ. He also said that Wyclef and Lauryn did mess around before he came onto the scene, but during the time period in question, he spent countless hours in the studio with Lauryn so there’s no way there was ever an affair.

For what it’s worth, I’m actually glad Rohan is speaking out against Wyclef and defending Lauryn Hill. It gives some insight into their relationship, that has been kept under lock and key for so long. Unlike Wyclef, apparently Lauryn or Rohan isn’t into airing their dirty laundry just to sell a book which is what Rohan is blaming Wyclef of doing.

Do you think it was good that Rohan did speak out in support of Lauryn Hill?

    and a cold shower

  2. As stated before Two ratchet people can not occupy the same space and same time without drama ensuing, the number an intensity only increases with the more ratchet people you add in the equation.

I think for the sake of the child involved EVERYONE should fall silent. The last thing you want to do is put doubt in a child’s mind or paint their mother in a bad light. Wyclef has enough money so if this is to sell a book shame on him…it wasn’t news…..what 14 years ago when the kid was born so why is it now.

Why would Wyclef come up with such issues after 14yrs ? That’s’ so bad. It doesn’t show good moral since a child is involved.

Glad he didn’t become president of Haiti; they have enough problems. He ‘seems’ to have integrity issues.
