News broke this morning that a shooting took place at Pastor Creflo Dollar’s church, which has over 30K members. An unidentified gunman, dressed in a suit, entered Atlanta’s World Changers Church and allegedly opened fire. One man has been confirmed dead from the shooting and it’s reported that the suspect shot the victim at point blank range while he was leading a prayer. More details have emerged via 11Alive:
“Investigators said the suspect, 52-year-old Floyd Palmer of Riverdale, [above] entered a chapel on the church’s campus and started shooting. Palmer is a former church employee; he resigned in August of this year, according to Fulton County spokeswoman Kay Lester. Fulton County officials confirmed that the victim was a 39-year-old church volunteer; the person’s name has not yet been released. Investigators said Palmer may have left the church in a black Subaru station wagon with tinted windows. Lester said Palmer is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.”
It’s a sad day when you’re not even safe in church. Our thoughts are with the victim and members of the church in the wake of this shocking incident.
