5 Relaxed

When you’re a fan of relaxing, you automatically must become a fan of moisturizing your strands. Chemicals dry out your hair which have to be replenished. One of the best ways to quench your mane, and keep your edges soft is with oils that nourish your hair without build-up.

What does the trick? Here are five products that will keep your relaxed style shiny and protected from breakage.

Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Growth Oil – This multi-purpose product, absorbs quickly and can be used as a hot oil treatment, a pre-poo conditioner or a finishing product on dry hair. Bonus: it smells delish. Elastaqp.com

Mizani Supreme Oil – Craving shine? Give your hair the royal treatment with this shea butter formula with eight natural oils. Designed for any hair type, this ultra-light treatment penetrates and absorbs to treat and smooth the hair, so it is not greasy unlike silicones and mineral oil that only lay on the hair’s surface. Mizani-usa.com

Optimum Salon Haircare 6-in-1 Miracle Oil – The folks at Optimum named this gem for the six precious oils packed into this one bottle: jojoba, avocado, argan, coconut, sunflower and apricot, as well as the six uses for this potion. Can be used as a scalp oil, hot oil treatment, and a daily leave-in conditioner, among other uses. Softsheen-Carson.com

Carol’s Daughter Stronger, Longer Relaxed Hair Set – As part of this three-product set comes the Hair Balm Liquid Pomade. The powerful strengthening and repairing pomade helps leave hair softer and most importantly, more manageable. Carolsdaughter.com

Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist - Made with strengthening organic bamboo and smoothing organic kendi oil, this double-duty formula, which comes in mist form, can be used as both a deeply nourishing treatment that helps to repair split ends and environmental damage, and as a color protecting style primer. Sephora.com

Sorry…BUT I’m going to have to be pedantic. The term “relaxed hair oils” doesn’t make any sense…Have the oils undergone the process of being “relaxed,” It would have read to say, five oils for relaxed hair. However, nice article.

How about argan oil? I’ve used pro naturals argan oil on relaxed hair and it’s worked great.
