Chris Brown Is Still Confused About Love

by Liane Membis

Rihanna’s recent photo tweets may have some thinking that her and ex-boo Chris Brown have reconciled and are back together, but according to the 23 year-old singer, he’s still confused about love.

In an interview with XXL magazine, Brown revealed that he is still trying to determine how he defines love.

“Love is something I am still learning. It’s just an obstacle that I haven’t yet mastered. I think that’s my biggest hurdle in life.”

With his return to Twitter this past weekend, Brown’s relationship appears to be back in the spotlight of virtual conversations. Rihanna and Chris Brown’s romantic rendezvous have been the life of the public’s since the 2009 incident that led to their initial breakup.

Brown’s questionability on love is evident, particularly after his recent break-up with Karrueche and a drunken video surfaced of him asking whether or not it’s possible to have two paramours: “Is there a such thing as loving two people? I don’t know if it’s possible, but I feel like that…”

But Brown clarifies in his XXL magazine interview that he’s not trying to break anyone’s heart:

“One thing people often want me to talk about is my public love life. When it comes to my love life, the perception seems as though I am a player, but that’s not true.”

Opinions have swayed over the possible reconciliation, some people criticizing Rihanna of being weak for standing by Brown and going back to her ex. Others give the Barbadian singer kudos for being able to forgive and move on.

Whatever the situation may be — despite the blinding lights of the paparazzi’s camera flash — it’s clear that their relationship truly is “Nobody’s Business”.

Can somebody just tell him, no more ink, that’s all. He is back on twitter? LOL! I’ve come to the conclusion that his PR do not love him at all. Whatevs.

  • Damn it Gina! (@gennatay)

I think his PR people are running his twitter account now. You can tell by the profile written for it.

  • Erin

He’s only 23. Of course he’s confused. Most people are as they age…

  • ZZ

I’m just waiting for the tweet that informs the public he killed her! She’s a damn fool and he’s a brute!

  • Chika

Who the hell cares?? I understand clutch writes all sorts of pieces, including celebrity posts, but I’m sick of hearing about Chris Brown on this site. Just my opinion.

  • Chika

I’m also sick of clutch not posting my comments for no apparent reason.

  • DownSouth Transplant

LOL, not to trivialize your angst but your comment was funny to me, my immediate response with the unknown posting was “yeah they need to post them”

  • AM

I sure hope that’s the case! I mean, their livelihood as of now, is dependent on his success, he’d tow the line if he was my client, by force, or else we’d part ways!

  • Yb

    God he looks disgusting.

What’s interesting about Rihanna & Chris is that in so many ways, they appear to behind mentally/emotionally compared to the average people in their early-mid 20′s. They’re not wired like the rest of us. How they handle situations and the way they carry themselves remind me of teenagers. They’ve been in the spotlight since they were 16/17 years old and have probably had to co-exist with older people for their adolescense and early adulthood. They didn’t get to humbling experience of being told no or having to abide by the rules most teenages would have. They have not had a chance to experience “love” as we would have and their ages.So to me, it makes sense that they are being these irriational Romeo and Juliets and being driven by their oh-so-dangerous love.

I think the main reason why they are trying this again is because the breakup was not on their terms, it was on the terms of the public. It ended violently and abruptly and while I’d agree with the many people that say if a man hits you that should be terms for a breakup, it does not necessarily guarantee you closure which is virtually impossible to get when you have the public constantly reminding you of your ex day in and day out. Neither of them had the luxury of using the out of sight, out of mind method to get over their ex and give themselves time to heal.

In regards to Chris not knowing about love, this is not shocking. I don’t expect to him to. From my view, he doesn’t really know much about himself as a man yet. He still has issues, like the rest of us that he is sorting through. He is a human being. A lot of 23 year old men don’t know what love is, they may THINK they know but I think for many people it takes actually experiencing it and being exposed to it to truly know it. So what do you do? You latch on to the closest thing to it.

Is there a reason why Clutch keeps giving us information into the ins and outs of Chris Browns miserable life, and writing articles to defend his sad character? Please, Enough with the articles!

  • Pseudonym

23? No matter how many times I hear it, I’m always shocked upon reading Chris Brown and Rihanna’s ages. I just can’t imagine having gone through so much drama in such a short period of time at such a young age. …and it doesn’t appear to be getting any better.

  • Anthony

IT doesn’t matter if you and I forgive him or not.
Rhianna is the one who matters since she was the victim. I wish the man well because I was once young and dumb, and I could have ended up in his shoes.
If I could talk to him, I would tell him to lose the ink, and to stay off of social media. He also needs to realize that cursing people never positively impresses anyone, even if you may have point as he did with the woman during the Twitter incident.

  • Anthony

    Yes he does look disgusting.

  • Gina! (@gennatay)

Thank you! I cannot imagine how I would react if everything I did at the age of 23 was broadcast around the world and people opinions and response was so immediate. yes half of it is there own fault (twitter and instagram) but still…

  • EST. 1986

He’ll be spending thousands of dollars to get rid of all those ugly tattoos.

  • Chika

I understand your point about Rhianna being the only one who matters. However your qualifier that you were “once young and dumb” and could’ve ended up in his shoes makes no sense to me. Twitter rants can be partially explained away by youth. Domestic violence can not.

  • Mr.vicious

He never asked for your forgiveness. How arrogant can you be…lol
I’m sure he is losing sleep, with riri in his arms…

  • Keepit;

I don’t know what you’re talking about…Chris Brown is a poor poor victim, why he’s not even a man, he’s just a misunderstood wittle boy that needs defending from the big bad evil media.

  • Anthony

I mean I was once young and dumb, and could been caught up in a domestic violence situation. I had a pretty hot temper as a young person. The young men who hit women are not monsters although they have often done monstrous things. I benefitted from having been raised in a family that taught me to look at violence as a valid reaction in only the most extreme circumstances, and arguing with a girl/woman who does not have a knife or gun does not qualify.

There is a 90% chance if you body is covered in tattoos and you’re not part of an native tribe or you’re not part of Asian culture umm your love life will be non existence lol. Yes, I’m generalizing but, that shit has stained on his body is ugly like his insides lol. I still think he is gay though lol.

  • The Bishop

WHAT? Your comment makes no sense.

It makes sense. I’m just being asshole bias towards people who are covered in tatts and I’m stating they will never find love to their ink lol. Plus, if it’s not part of your culture like the some native tribes hell you’re shit out of luck for love due to the stereotype people with tattoos are degenerates. It’s just an asshole comment nothing more nothing less. Also, when I said his insides are stained like the tattoo what I’m referring to is that he is ugly inside like his tattoo. But, I think his true lover is a gay man lol.. Now I hope I make sense lol???

  • apple

who cares??? i hope he never finds it
