Megan Good is having a hell of a year. Along with being in the hit comedy Think Like A Man, and marrying her best friend, Columbia pictures studio exec DeVon Franklin, she nabbed the lead role in NBC’s newest primetime drama, Deception.

Previously titled Infamous, Deception attempts to answer the question: Who killed Vivian Bowers?

Good plays detective Joanna Locasto who goes undercover inside the Bowers family—a clan she grew up around as the daughter of the family’s maid—to find out who killed Vivian.

Recently, NBC released the full pilot episode in advance of the show’s January premiere.

Check it out.

Deception also stars Laz Alonzo, Victor Garber, and Tate Donovan. It premieres Monday, January 7th at 10 p.m on NBC.

Will you be tuning in?

im very excited for this show

Yaer for black women in television seems to be getting better. Good luck megan!

I watched it last night and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a very different role than what we’re used to seeing Megan play, but I think she did a great job! While Laz is very nice to look at, I wasn’t really feeling his acting. The storyline is interesting and I hope this show sticks around.

i watched it a couple of days ago.

i’m happy for megan but this is not a great show. it suffers from poor writing.

i also think it may be harder to be incredibly excited because megan’s character is an underling (of both her employers – wink), not a power player, unlike olivia in scandal.

    it might get better though.

    i don’t wanna give too much away…

I saw it. The show has potential. Good to see her playing a different role

When I heard of the show I was very excited for Megan Good and checked out the pilot. I wanted this to be as sharp and fast-paced as Scandal (admittedly an unfair comparison), but unfortunately it was not. The writing and plot fell flat (for me), and by the end I can’t say that I was interested to see more. It came across like a step up from a Lifetime movie. Despite all of this, I do think Megan Good did a pretty good job, and of course it’s awesome that she’s in a lead role on a major network.

Looks good so far. But whats with these new shows with black women loving white men??

  • Lola

Please for every 1 black women/white men show there 5x more black men/white women.

  • Nadell

    I like!

  • eshowoman

There are no dramas with black men with black love interests. Besides whites will not watch a show with too many black people in the cast. Two seems be their limit.

  • Kay

I know. I’m excited. Lord knows we deserve it. We’ve been in the shadows long enough!

  • Kay

I just watched it too, and it was pretty solid. It was definitely good to see Meagan playing something more than arm candy. Maybe she’s finally found herself, and now knows what kind of roles to look for.

  • Tina

There alot more black women/white men show than there are black men/white women.

What shows are you talking about that show the opposite?
