Winter Skin: How To Keep Skin From Looking Dry in Cooler Weather

Winter is here, and that means it’s time to put together the top skincare products for your daily regimen. Colder air is drying and dull, dry skin is not only unattractive to look at, it can also be extremely uncomfortable. Here are some skincare tips to combat dryness during months of cold air:

Step 1: Wash

The DDF Blemish Foaming Cleanser ($32.00) is a gentle foaming cleanser that is perfect for normal to oily skin types and prevents and treats acne blemishes. With salicylic acid as a key ingredient, this cleanser cleans the surface and down in the pores to tighten the skin without over drying it.

Step 2: Tone

Clinique Clarifying Lotion ($12.50 – $21.00) is a world famous toner that exfoliates the skin, purifies pores, and clears away pollution your face can come against. Available in four formulas to cater to the specific needs of the different skin types, the Clinique Clarifying Lotion is a must-have all year round, but an essential during the colder months.

Step 3: Moisturize

The IMAN Replenishing Serum ($20.00) is one of a kind moisturizer. It treats the skin from enviromental damage, aging effects, any lost nutrients. Aloe Vera, Antarcicine and White Tea Extract and Hydrolyzed Silk are the main ingredients that help repair the skin while providing the moisture that it needs. After using this product, you will see and feel an immediate difference. Your face will feel tighter and your skin will look brighter.

Step 4: Powder Up

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural($27.00). Once your all blotted up, this sheer powder is the perfect finishing touch to complete the outer layer of your day’s makeup. It’s sheer enough to not disrupt the makeup applied earlier, but powdery enough to finish off the day with the freshest face.

  1. Jojoba Oil works like a miracle moisturizer during the winter. I have oily skin and because jojoba oil is very similar to the natural oil our skin produces, it absorbs quickly and without leaving you looking greasy. I put a small amount in my palm (dime size or less) and rub it all over my face. Sometimes I only use it at night and when I wake up my skin as a nice glow to it.

    Cold pressed is supposed to be the best but it’s hard to find in stores. I use NOW brand organic, expeller pressed one.

    Because our skin sheds more in the winter, I would also suggest an exfoliation. For that I use Peter Thomas Roth complexion pads. Also great.

    Just my 2 cents…

  2. The cheapest and best way to keep your body moisturized and soft is to take the following steps:
    1. shower;
    2. When you step out of the shower use your towel to pat yourself dry, but not completely.
    3. then apply your favorite lotion;
    4. Then pat yourself fully dry, patting, not rubbing.

    Your skin will be softer than a babies’ bum.
