Gospel musician and producer Kirk Franklin is already the host of BET’s Sunday Best, and now he’s picking up a new gig as the co-host of the Game Show Network’s The American Bible Challenge.
According to Deadline, Kirk Franklin joins The American Bible Challenge for its second season, alongside host Jeff Foxworthy, and will lead a choir that will be featured on the show.
“The show is a fresh and fun approach to celebrating the Word of God, and being able to provide an element of praise, worship and honor is both exciting and humbling,” Franklin said.
Franklin said he plans to “help add a little flavor” to the show. “That’s my brand. I just try to bring a little smile to the faith,” he added.
During the trivia show, contestants compete based on their knowledge of the Bible to win $20,000 for the charity of their choice. Winners also earn the chance to win $100,000 as the season’s champion for their charity.
The American Bible Challenge premiered last season with 1.7 million viewers, record-breaking ratings for GSN. It’s scheduled to kick off its second season on March 21.
