Since the start of his talking head stint on MSNBC’s The Cycle Touré has been referred to as a few not so nice words. This week, it happened to be “village idiot” after his support of President Obama’s drone wars and the right to kill American citizens, especially those who have jumped ship and joined Al Qaeda. Ironically, 7 weeks ago Toure seemed to be anti-drone wars, “It wrecks the soul of America,” Touré said.
Flippity flop. Touré changed his tune during this week’s episode of The Cycle, Touré had this to say:
We’re at war with al Qaeda right now, and if you join al Qaeda, you lose the right to be an American. You lose the right to due process. You declare yourself an enemy of this nation, and you are committing treason. And I don’t see why we should expand American rights to people who want to kill Americans, who are working to kill Americans, who are committing treason. This is not criticizing the United States. This is going to war against the United States.
Touré makes it way too easy for people to refer to him as MSNBC’s village idiot. But what makes it even crazier is when you adamantly defend your flippity flopness via Twitter:
It’s always nice to have a vehicle to voice your opinion, but wouldn’t it be nicer if the opinions were at least a little consistent? I’m pretty sure Touré’s block list on Twitter has a few more people added to it.
