Racist Hate Group To Conduct Nighttime Patrols On College Campus

Towson University’s White Student Union (WSU) is at it again. Last year, Matthew Heimbach made headlines with he said that the Black Student Union (BSU) promotes “their” heroes and he wants to do the same, and he felt the need to start the WSU.

“We want to be able to promote on campus for students who want to be proud of their heritage and the foundations of this country and stand up for themselves,” Heimbach said of the Youth for Western Civilization.

Now going by the name “Commander Heimbach”, Matthew’s group was officially labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. This month at CPAC, Heimbach and his cohort Scott Terry interrupted a minority panel, praising slavery. Heimbach also told ThinkProgress that he’d be fine living in a society where blacks are subservient to whites.

According to Towson’s campus newspaper, the WSU will now provide “vigilante” services on campus, by patrolling the area to prevent crime:

Some members of the group, equipped with flashlights, will conduct on-campus safety walks, and female members will carry pepper spray in an attempt to protect students from various crimes like sexual assaults and robberies, WSU President Matthew Heimbach said.

“One thing we’re doing at night is to have a male member accompany female members across campus or to night classes,” Heimbach said. “Not because we’re terrified, but in college everyone is focused on themselves. We just want to make campus a better place. If we see a white person commit a crime against a person who is not white, we’re going to assist the person who was attacked every time.”

Despite multiple attempts, Towson University Police could not be reached for comment on the legality of these patrols.

Heimbach said female members have also been enrolling in self-defense classes, and members have been going to local gun ranges as a group, but not in a “military way,” Heimbach said.

He said group members would carry no weapons on the nighttime walks.

Though the group could not find a faculty adviser and therefore cannot be a University affiliated organization, administration has allowed the group to meet and use University facilities, despite community outcry.

Shame on Towson for allowing a hate group access to facilities owned and operated by the State of Maryland. But I guess freedom of ignorance and freedom of speech goes hand in hand. Lets see how long it takes before violence erupts on campus because of a hate crime while one of these idiots are on “patrol”. Higher Learning 2.0.

  1. I can’t imagine a university that wants to be taken seriously putting up with this but stranger things have happened.

  2. I pray it doesn’t happen but i’m sure Towson is on its way to a hate-crime related lawsuit in the near future.

  3. What exactly do white folks think goes on at a BSU meeting…. White Bashing. Why is it that BLACK Organizations are so Taboo according to white folks, but WOMEN’S Organizations are unimportant, and are not seen as male discrimination. Just watch, 2016 when Hillary is the next President, people can praise it openly all the time, every day, and won’t offend any one about being the first female President, or Finally a women in control of things, yada yada yada. But black folks can’t respond like this for Obama, the first black President.

    • Because people fear what they don’t understand or continue to remain ignorant instead of educating themselves. They rather holler and shout because they think they are the subject matter when they are not or think they about being excluded against because they are so use to doing the exclusion. It has been a while since I with to a BSU meeting but last time I attended it was open to anyone you didn’t have to be black to attend at my school. This university is a joke.

  4. Chic Noir

He’s kind of dark to be claiming “white status”. I guess they(hate groups) are so desperate, they’re just letting anyone in these days.
