Rihanna Launches RiRi Woo Mac Lipstick

by Yesha Callahan

Music, acting, fashion and now cosmetics, Rihanna is definitely leaving her mark on pop-culture. On May 3, M.A.C Cosmetics will launch Rihanna’s now lipstick, RiRi Woo. RiRi Woo  is a cool matte red and was inspired by Rihanna’s love of M.A.C’s Ruby Roo. RiRi Woo is her debut for the RiRi (Hearts) M.A.C line, which will include three collections to be rolled out later.

“When you think of make-up, the brand that pops into your mind – for something legit – is M.A.C,” Rihanna explained when news first broke of her collaboration with M.A.C Cosmetics. “Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC.’ I’ve been using M.A.C on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved make-up, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”

RiRi Woo Matte cool red will set you back $16.00 and will only be available at M.A.C.  After the initial launch, more products will be available from Rihanna’s line, which will include everything from lipstick and false lashes to nail polish

Rihanna recently shared her experience with working with M.A.C:

“Working with MAC, it’s difficult to get a red lipstick that beats Ruby Woo, because it works on every skin tone. I had so many different samples to choose from and so many different colours underneath – blue, yellow, orange and pink bases. And I got to pick one that worked, and I tried it on all my friends to make sure it worked on all of our skin tones.  I really got to play. There’s so much to choose from, and you can mix different textures with different colors and different greens in different eye shadows. I learned so much about the detail of makeup and what makes things look different. What makes it apply different is really important. Every little detail is important.”
