“I’m lovin’ it” … That might be what hero Charles Ramsey is saying today after learning that he won’t have to pay for another burger in the greater Cleveland area for the rest of his life.
After mentioning that the unfathomable sight of Amanda Berry across the street interrupted his Big Mac attack, many restaurants reached out to Ramsey to express their support for the valorous effort put forth in the rescue of 3 women and a young child from the clutches of the repugnant Ariel Castro, 52.
McDonald’s tweeted and said it would be interested in speaking with Ramsey (no word yet whether Mickey D’s has lived up to its stated claim), and later in the month, Ramsey was honored with his own burger, “The Ramsey Burger,” by the restaurant that employed him as a dishwasher.
According to Gawker, that was a free sample compared with what came next: A personalized “Chuck Card” good for a lifetime of free burgers at over a dozen restaurants in Northeast Ohio.
Some restaurants will even throw in a free order of fries and a drink.
“He stopped his meal midway through to help those women,” said Scott Kuhn of Driftwood Restaurant Group, who organized the tribute. “We’re now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger.”
