Charles Ramsey Earns Free Burgers for Life

“I’m lovin’ it” … That might be what hero Charles Ramsey is saying today after learning that he won’t have to pay for another burger in the greater Cleveland area for the rest of his life.

After mentioning that the unfathomable sight of Amanda Berry across the street interrupted his Big Mac attack, many restaurants reached out to Ramsey to express their support for the valorous effort put forth in the rescue of 3 women and a young child from the clutches of the repugnant Ariel Castro, 52.

McDonald’s tweeted and said it would be interested in speaking with Ramsey (no word yet whether Mickey D’s has lived up to its stated claim), and later in the month, Ramsey was honored with his own burger, “The Ramsey Burger,” by the restaurant that employed him as a dishwasher.

According to Gawker, that was a free sample compared with what came next: A personalized “Chuck Card” good for a lifetime of free burgers at over a dozen restaurants in Northeast Ohio.

Some restaurants will even throw in a free order of fries and a drink.

“He stopped his meal midway through to help those women,” said Scott Kuhn of Driftwood Restaurant Group, who organized the tribute. “We’re now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger.”

Really??? Really??? Why not a job, a managerial position at McDonalds??? Now he’s just going to die of heart disease.

I had a lovely chuickle after reading this. Good for him! Hopefully he heads up a commercial soon.

I hope he gets more for his heroism than fast food, but given the income of dish washers, free burgers and drinks for life will probably be a great aid to him. They need to give him free salads for life too.

  • TMITS

Lol. Right, because that is exactly what he needs, a lifetime of free fast food.

I think it was a fun gesture; they didn’t have to do anything at all.

What I’m really interested in is what is he going to do now, as far as employment? Is he still a dishwasher? I’m thinking w his fame it may be interesting going back.

It would be nice if he was offered a spokesperson job or an advertisement or something–he appears ready and level headed unlike homeless dude who had to kick his drug addiction first….

So they’re trying to kill the man?

Nah, I’m just kidding. At least he’ll always have a meal.

  • ….

    An endorsement woulda been nice

whatever happened to that dude anyway?

  • i.mean.really.

He went home and finished his Big Mac.

Yeah, I agree with sixfoota – they didn’t’ have to do anything at all.

Since the offer has been extended, I hope his meals aren’t just limited to burgers. He may eventually desire to change his eating habits especially if his health begins to deteriorate.

    sweet..

He’ll go back to another low income job that doesn’t require much education.

He’s also going to earn his way to free diabetes and obesity, but it’s great to see the restaurant reaching out. It would have been nice for them to offer some type of career training program so he could be more than just a dishwasher.

Thanks. I was going to make similar remarks. Don’t forget high blood pressure and heart disease. However, yes, if they really “cared” about him, they could have provided him with some job training in addition to financial assistance and financial management so he can at least retire at a decent age. With a dishwasher’s salary he will wind up working into his mid 70s and possibly his 80s. In other words, it may take years before they finally increase the minimum wage. However, people his age that are working minimum wage jobs with the pay that those jobs provide don’t have that kind of time.

Wow – that’s simply amazing what some companies will do. Although, if he keeps eating fast food he might not live that long :p
