Kristie and Kirstie Bronner are used to turning heads. Now, as the two prepare to graduate from Spelman College, the inseparable twins are set to make history as the university’s first co-valedictorians who are not only scholars, but also identical twins.
The Bronner twins credit hard work and faith for their success.
“Before we came to college we prayed that we would keep 4.0s all the way through but I don’t think we ever really expected it,” Kirstie Bronner explained to local news affiliate WSBTV.
Kristie added: “You don’t have to be the smartest. You don’t have to be the one who came in with the prior knowledge to be the one to succeed. It’s a great testimony and it’s also fun to be able to share it with one another. I don’t think we’d want it any other way.”
Determined to keep their promise to graduate with a perfect g.p.a., the twins studied so hard it nearly made them sick. Soon, however, they found the ability to balance the demands of their education with having a well-rounded life.
“We learned how to have a balance to life and then to be able to appreciate the journey of college and be more healthy and be more happy,” Kristie said.
“Every semester we learned something new about life, things we could apply to life, things we could apply to school,” Kirstie said.
The Bronner twins hope to pass on their love of learning and faith to the next generation. After graduation, Kirstie and Kristie plan on working in the youth ministry at their father’s church as well as record a gospel album.
