The Unwritten Rules

One of our favorite web series is back for another season. “The Unwritten Rules” follows Racey as she navigates corporate America as one of the few black folks in the office.

Based on the book, 40 Hours and an Unwritten Rule by Kim Williams, “The Unwritten Rules” hilariously tackles race, prejudice, and what happens when you’re one of the few people of color in the room.

Check out episode two of season two, and let us know what you think!

I saw her on NBC’s dateline talking about her sister’s murder a couple of weeks ago. She said some of her sister’s stories is what inspired this show. I had no clue and really like what she’s done with this show. It’s great.

I work with a bunch of Tea Party people. One woman told me that biracial children have special health problems and she was so shocked when I asked her to explain herself. She knows that my husband is white. I absolutely relate to this series. Racey tries to get along. I have basically given up talking to these people about anything not business-related except my supervisor and one person that I like. I have snapped someone’s head off for ridiculous things that were said about the President. I did apologize and take her to lunch, but that was only because I didn’t want to get reported to HR. I embrace the angry black woman stereotype. It keeps people from saying stupid stuff to you. I only have to smile at interviews.
