I guess Republicans really do blame the President for everything.
According to a recent poll of Louisiana Republicans, 29-percent of registered GOP voters felt President Obama, not President Bush (who got 28% of the blame), was responsible for the botched response after Hurricane Katrina.
Hurricane Katrina devastated the gulf coast and large swaths of Louisiana in 2005—nearly four years before President Obama took office. The storm caused over $100 billion in damages in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, and was responsible for approximately 2,000 deaths. Former President George W. Bush was roundly criticized for his administration’s handling of the response to the storm, and he has said that it was one of his biggest failures while in office.
The same poll found that 41-percent of Louisiana voters approve of President Obama, while 52-percent, including 26-percent of Democrats, disapprove of his job performance.
