sarah massey butt

Sarah Massey is proud of her assets. Those assets happen to have a circumference of 7-feet.  The 33-year-old mother is being touted as having the world’s largest butt.

Massey says she’s proud of her shape and isn’t embarrassed about showing it off. Although she is proud, Massey does understand that her weight isn’t healthy. She says she knows how to eat well, but her proportion control is something she needs to work.

Having a positive body image is all fine and dandy but let’s not act like being morbidly obese is anything but healthy. Thinking that obesity is healthy is the same as thinking that being 6’0 and a size 2 is healthy as well.

Clutchettes, what do you think about body confidence versus healthy?

While I don’t think a size 2 for some people is healthy, I also think excess weight that puts pressure on your heart and can cause health problems down the line is unhealthy too. I think there needs to be a balance. We don’t need to be bombarded with messages of how thin women can be if they could only do x,y and z. But I also think that people can live longer and fuller lives if they understood better eating habits and remained active.

  • I’m all for the “positive body image” but she definitely needs to lose which I know she’s aware of. Being “categorically obese” myself (though most people don’t look at me and think that, I just need to lose a few) I know it can be daunting to think about all of the work and changes needed to reach a weight loss goal. Couple my weight issues with a hormonal imbalance that doctors have yet to pin point and losing is virtually impossible for me. So all I can do is eat healthier and be active, both of which I am currently doing. It would be sad for her to fail at losing weight because she isn’t confident enough. Trust it coming from someone who struggles with feeling like I don’t matter or am overlooked b/c of my size that it can be detrimental to your health rather than helpful. I’m glad she’s able to maintain a positive demeanor and hopefully that will help her remain optimistic and give her the confidence to believe she can which will ultimately help her reach her goals, whatever they may be.

Research has found that fat in the lower body has protective effects. Therefore, she may very well be healthy.

It’s crazy but I see a woman who, with dedication, self-discipline and ACTUAL self confidence can kill it. Drop 225 lbs off her, get rid of that tacky ass wig (ew) and she’d be mean in these streets, lol. No really though. It’s 2014, we need to be living up to our fullest potential, physically and mentally. This is certainly not her fullest potential, I see a woman currently hiding from that, just like I me and so many other women.

    Only have one life…
