It’s not exactly a Cosby Show reboot, but it sounds interesting….
It’s been over 20 years since Cliff, Claire, and their brood turned out the lights on 10 Stigwood Avenue and danced their way off the set of the Cosby Show. But according to Deadline, the Cos is returning to NBC in another family friendly comedy.
Cosby is reuniting with Cosby Show producer Tom Werner to create a half-hour sitcom that will star the 76-year-old comedian as the patriarch of a multi-generational family who gives his take on marriage and parenting.
Last November, Cosby told YahooTV that he’s been planning to do another show for years, and hopes to reach audiences who are hungry for something the entire family can watch.
“They would like to see a married couple that acts like they love each other, warts and all, children who respect the parenting, and the comedy of people who make mistakes. Warmth and forgiveness,” Cosby told Yahoo TV in November. “So I hope to get that opportunity, and I will deliver the best of Cosby.”
The show has been put on off-season development, and there’s been no date on when it will go into production or who else might join the cast.
