    Love it!

THANKS Clutch! I’ve discovered some I had no knowledge of.
Misty Knight & Crimson Avenger are bad chicas!
With the direction the comic films consistently go, you’d think there are absolutely NO black sheroes.
Also, the background with Storm….isn’t N’Dare, her mother, the princess of a tribe in Kenya? Therefore making her mother black and father white?

  • youandme

i would love to see some of them have their own movie.

  • Third Light (formerly know as EL)

I love reading comics. Me and my partner both wish there was more representation of Black and Brown superheroes! Especially Black women! How can Captain Marvel be so under-rated!?

  • SayWhat

    Misty knight…YES.

  • monika

Was Marie Laveau the inspiration for Angela Bassets’s character on AHS?

  • sankofa

IKR Bless this post! I’ve you like live action, you may enjoy the anime Michiko to Hatchin it’s set in a Brazil like city with lots of strong/ complicated female PoC characters.

  • Sky

I believe so. Both characters are based on the real Marie Laveau of Louisiana:)

  • Jay

No, girl. Storm wasn’t biracial, she was fully black. Her mother N’Dare was descended from “a long line of African witch-priestesses with white hair, blue eyes, and a natural gift for sorcery.”(wikipedia) Her father was African American, David Munroe. :)

  • classoffitness

    What? no MileStone comics.

  • Nadell

Thanks @ Jay for that clarification.
