Essence Magazine’s March issue is chock full of Hollywood’s hottest talent. The cover features the Butler costars Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker; 12 Years a Slave leading man Chiwetel Ejiofor; and Fruitvale Station’s Michael B. Jordan. Inside, Essence celebrates Kenyan Beauty Lupita Nyong’o, Ava DuVernay, and 75 of Tinsetown’s most powerful Black women.

Inside the mag, which Essence has designated a collector’s issue, the actors open up about how they approached each of their powerful roles, if Hollywood is finally welcoming of Black folks, and what they think the supposed “year of Black film” actually means.

Check out this behind the scenes video and pick up the March issue of Essence when it hits newsstands February 10.

I seriously don’t get why the focus is only on Lupita. The cover says ’75 Black Women Taking Over Hollywood’ and they the only have 1 woman on the cover. Are they seriously trying to say that none of the 75 women were available expect for Oprah.
