Two families are mourning the deaths of Crystal Jackson and Britney Crosby. The Houston women were found murdered in Port Bolivar early Friday, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
The bodies of Cosby and Jackson, both 24, were discovered by a beer deliveryman next to a dumpster outside of the Fisherman’s Cove store in Port Bolivar. Deputies say the woman were involved in a romantic relationship.
Relatives say the two women went to Galveston for Mardi Gras.
“Just come forward, just to give us closure as a family,” McDade Cosby, Britney’s sister, told the news station. “Just come forward, because we need closure at this point.”
Jackson was a mother to a five-year-old girl.
“Unbelievable, it’s scary,” Nancy Palley, a Port Bolivar resident, said. “You know, I told my husband we are making sure to lock our doors today. I’m not coming home to find someone in my house.”
Investigators are looking for a silver 2006 Kia Sorrento with paper tags–a car the couple recently purchased together. It is missing and whoever took it may be the same person who took their lives, reporters say.
A composite sketch has been released of a suspect that was seen driving a similar car.
Anyone with information regarding the victims’ deaths or the stolen vehicle is asked to call the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 866-248-8477.
