Honestly, I had no idea who August Alsina was until today. So I guess he’s gotten what he wanted.
But what he doesn’t realize is that, rudeness only works for the Kanye’s in the world, and some will say he actually has a reason to be rude and self-absorbed.
August, let me be frank with you.
In a world where r&b singers come and go, and have the life span of the sperm that birthed you, you may want to lay off the attitude a bit.
Readers, if you’re also asking yourself, “Who the hell is August Alsina?”, he’s an up-and-coming R&B singer who appeared on 106 & Park on April 15 to promote his new album Testimony. During his appearance, Keshia Chante, a host on the show, asked Alsina about some recent Trey Songz controversy.
“Is there any chance that two talented brothers will bury the hatchet?” August did not seem overly pleased by the question, and responded with, “So, you just gon’ against the grain and go against everything that I just–…. I just told y’all not to ask me that s*** when I got up here.”
So what’s the R&B beef between Trey Songz and Alsina? Pretty hilarious if you ask me.
And what’s the beef between Alsina and Trey? They were getting along well in 2013 when Alsina released his song “I Luv This S***” featuring Trey (and Chris Brown), but Alsina told Rap Up in March 2014 that the relationship went south.
“I don’t really f*** with Trey right now. We don’t get along right now. We ain’t on the same page. He did some other s*** and we just don’t rock. Like I tell people all the time, show me that you’re this person on day one… You should always be that person. We were supposed to have a show together and it just went left ’cause I can’t deal with n***s’ egos and attitudes ’cause I’m just a real n**** comin’ through and I’m rockin’.”
In laymen’s terms, it looks like these two high-pitched voiced R&B singers had a playground fight over something.
How the hell do you snap on a host, who’s trying to give you shine? That Trey Songz controversy will probably be the highlight of your career.
And I’m sure BET won’t have you step foot on their stage again.
