If you’ve been hiding under a rock, you may have missed the new internet craze involving Kermit memes. Everyone’s favorite Muppet character has now been reduced to a mouthpiece for people on social media. At first they started off as cute memes, but slowly they’ve evolved into something racist, sexist and even homophobic.

In the memes, Kermit is always depicting saying things that people want to say, but they don’t because “that’s none of their business”.

    None of these mention race, though. They are making fun of the ghetto lifestyle, which is not at all exclusive to Black people. It’s more discriminatory to assume these are all about Black people. The weave ones can pretty much be narrowed down to talking about Black women, but Black women are not the only people who get weaves either.
