Stacey Dash

On the heels of announcing that she would be a Fox News contributor, “Clueless” star Stacey Dash seems to think that her Republican party is all for gay marriage.

The 47-year-old was out for a hike with her 25-year-old boyfriend on Friday, June 13, when she was approached by a TMZ cameraman who asked her whether or not the GOP could get more of a younger following if it changed its views on same-sex marriage.

“But we are for equal marriage,” Dash said, “We’re not against that at all. We believe that everyone should have the same right.”

Ummm..earth to Stacey? Since when?

The cameraman also confronted Dash about the Tea Party, and the message they’re sending, she stated:  “That’s just propaganda, it’s not true. You know? That’s just a certain amount of people. You can’t just throw a blanket over everyone because certain people have one opinion.”

And she may have a point about the certain amount of people. There’s probably about a handful of Republicans who support gay marriage also.

But someone may want to remind Dash that the official stance of the Republican Party is against LGBT equality, and the party’s national platform calls for a ban on same-sex marriage. Although there are some younger Republicans trying to break away from those stances, it’s still the majority’s opinion.

I think the GOP is embarrassed about a lot of the stupid statements being made by party members.
