John Legend has always been vocal about his political beliefs but some conservative pundits would rather he sit down, shut up and just provide their entertainment. John shared his thoughts on the Isreali/Palestine conflict on Twitter and elicited quite the disparaging remark from New York Post columnist John Podhoretz.

John Legend tweeted: “So sick watching our Secretary of State have to grovel so hard to tell Israel how much he loves them while Israeli cabinet shits on him.”

And John Podhoretz rudely responded: “Shut up and play the piano.”

Oh, John Legend’s not allowed to present a dissenting opinion? Should he just sit quietly and sing on cue for you?

Chrissy Teigen swooped in and put John Podhoretz in his place as only she can:

Maybe John Podhoretz will think twice before disrespecting John’s very valid political opinion just because he’s a recording artist.

Why don’t they just sing. And do their art. I am not interested in what they subscribe to politically. Just sing John.

Artists and celebrities have every right to express thier opinions., However, they, like the rest of us, should strive to be as informed as possible. John Legend is a very knowledgable person and is right with his critique. I was thinking the same thing when I began hearing about how badly John Kerry is being treated.
