The easiest jab K. Michelle could think of to target her Instagram followers was to call them “nappy-headed.” In an Instagram post yesterday, K. let her followers know she’d no longer be reading disparaging comments from detractors, who she attacked with a slew of insults. Among them: “miserable” “untamed humans” “cum catchers” and “nappy head.” Here’s the post:
Two years ago, we wrote about nappy as an insult following another incident involving K. Michelle when Rasheeda told her to “do something with [her] nappy ass hair” on the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” reunion. Little has happened since then in terms of evolution as these women are still slinging around the word “nappy” to berate each other. Do you believe nappy is an insult? Will women like K. Michelle and Rasheeda ever get to the point where they can reclaim the word and stop attacking each other over hair texture?
