Like most of you know, Election Day is November 4. So, yeah, it’s right around the corner, and I’m sure many of you have already done your civic duty early and are proudly donning your “I Voted” sticker for the world to see.

However, for those who haven’t yet voted (we know some Black folk love to procrastinate — no shade), you might not be aware that there are some fairly significant names on the ballot box in various areas of the country. Some are history-making, as a matter of fact. So let’s go over a few names you should be familiar with before the end of E-Day. Better to be informed and be prepared when your turn with the ballot box comes.

  • She will not be the first black republican elected to congress. Tim Scott in South Carolina is one but now he was promoted by Nicki Haley to the SC senate. Also JC Watts of Oklahoma was in congress back in the 90’s.
