Fugees darling Lauryn Hill is making headlines again but this time it’s not because of her over-strained voice but rather her consistent inability to hit the stage on time.

This past Saturday (Nov. 1), Hill arrived at the Voodoo Fest in New Orleans 45 minutes later than she was scheduled which caused her to be unceremoniously cut off in mid-song at 7:15 pm in order to accommodate the next performance from actor Jared Leto’s band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

It was a real bummer for fans who were thoroughly enjoying Hill’s energetic rendition of popular hits like Everything is Everything”, “Lost Ones” and “Ready or Not” which she was diving into when her microphone suddenly went dead, and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” started blasting through the speakers. But Hill continued to belt out her tune until the lights went out.

Most in attendance were not pleased with the way the organizers forced Hill off stage especially since she was reportedly in rare form that night. But some understood the tight schedule festivals have to adhere to accepted why Hill had to pay the price for her tardiness.

About 45 minutes after Hill was prompted off the stage, it was announced that she would be given the chance to complete her set on another stage across from the one she was initially assigned.

Better late than never definitely applies here and we are sure that this experience won’t make Ms. Lauryn Hill mindful in the future. Arriving late for gigs seems to be her signature move – for better or for worse.

Organizers should know by now to tell her that her set is 2 hours before it actually is…

Yep, and she probably would throw a fit once she realized that she arrived early.

Lauren Hill fans are classic victims of abuse. You keep going back to get hit in the face again. Let it go.

LOL!!!! I wish Lauryn would get it together. She is so talented.

    She is full of herself.

She keeps getting booked for gigs though so I have no sympathy for concert organizers or her fans. Her repuatation is not new.

It’s bad enough that she does this at her own shows, but to pull this at a festival where other artists are booked? Completely unprofessional

Is she trying to sabotage her own career, or is she just conceited enough to think that people will keep putting up with this?
