The urge to get colorful with your make up choices in celebration of summer holidays is one that can be difficult to fight, but there are ways to still have fun with your look and not over do it.
In honor of Cinco De Mayo, here are 5 tips for creating and maintaining a fun but simplistic look that will compliment your festive mood.
Bronzer Over Blush: Going with a bronzer instead of a blush will take your face from glamour photo shoot finish to naturally sun-kissed glow. While blushes are ideal for adding a pop of color to your cheekbones, a bronzer can be evenly applied to your entire face for an effortless boost of natural color.
Tip: If you’re having trouble finding a shimmer-free bronzer, try a pressed powder that’s slightly darker than your norm.
Matte Eyeshadow Over Shimmer: Spring and summer seasons are always a great time of the year to add a little spark to your eyes! Since many of us also like to play with fun and flirty color schemes in our wardrobes during these seasons, choosing a matte eye shadow will keep the color explosion present but under control. You don’t have to completely do away with a bright eye shadow if your outfit eludes a similar color scheme, but try holding off on the glitter or shimmer shadows and you’ll definitely notice a difference.
Tip: If you’re worried that your matte eye shadow won’t make enough of a statement, use an eye shadow primer to make sure your color pops.
