Sandra Bland said that she couldn’t believe what was happening to her just because she didn’t use a signal to change lanes to someone she left a voicemail to after she was arrested.
“I’m still just at a loss for words honestly at this whole process,” she said on the message. “How did switching lanes with no signal turn into all of this, I don’t even know.”

The short voicemail was left 3 days before Bland was found dead in her jail cell and was only 22 seconds long.
She told her friend she was “able to see the judge” and her bail was set at $5,000 during the July 11 appearance.

Bland made three calls the Saturday she appeared in court, she called the friend, her sister and a bail bondsman that afternoon.

Bland’s sister, Sharon Cooper, confirmed  that they have been told that Bland had a court hearing between her arrest and the morning of July 13 when she was found hanging dead in her cell.

Very chilling. Poor Sandra. She doesn’t sound like a person set on ending her life. I don’t believe for one minute that she committed suicide. I just hope whatever happened to her will be brought to light and whoever killed her will be brought to justice.

A bail at $5,000 is absurd by any stretch of the imagination. Sandra’s words certainly makes everyone aware that police egoism and the mistreatment of black women is a continued epidemic worldwide. Justice should be served along with the truth being known for all. Sandra was a brave Sister and a great social activist who wanted freedom.

That doesn’t sound like a person in severe distress AT.ALL.

SMH…I just can’t comprehend at this point. I hope the family keeps pressing on because something in the milk isn’t clean with this whole story. But I agree switching lanes without using a turning signal should not have lead up to her death.
