Finally we have some progress! After HBO ordered the pilot for Issa Rae’s semi-biographical comedy Insecure earlier this year, it looks things are finally moving along on the production.
According to Shadow & Act, The Game’s Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji will co-star in Insecure, a show that follows the awkward, but hilarious, life of Issa Dee (Issa Rae).
Ellis will take on the role of Lawrence, Dee’s depressed and unemployed boyfriend who’s been trying to get his life together for years. Orji will play Molly, Dee’s super successful best friend who’s unlucky in love.
Rae will star and executive produce the pilot for Insecure along side Prentice Penny, who’ll also serve as the showrunner. The Nightly Show’s Larry Willmore is a consultant on the production.
