Idris-elba1-1-11There’s nothing like a good Twitter lashing to make people see things a bit more clearly and that’s exactly what happened to the latest James Bond author after he described Idris Elba as “too street” — read too black — to play in the 007 series.

A few hours after the Internet (okay, let’s be serious, Black Twitter) heard Anthony Horowitz had described the British actor as “too rough” to play the Bond lead — on top of questioning his ability to be suave — the writer began singing a totally different tune on Twitter and issued an apology for his comments in the Daily Mail.

Though nearly some of everyone has offered up their two cents on Horowitz’ remarks, some while simultaneous throwing the utmost shade at the current Bond, Daniel Craig, Idris Elba is about the only one who hasn’t had a word to say. That’s likely because he already told us he has no interest in being a “Black Bond” anyway. In other words, Horowitz you couldn’t get Idris if you tried.

Twitter certainly has a lot of influence in the world today. I view Idris Elba as a regular black man.
