Despite female athletes like Serena Williams, Maya Moore, Gabby Douglass, and Sanya Richards-Ross absolutely killing it in their respective sports, many falsely believe women aren’t as competitive or as talented as their male counterparts. But today, President Obama set the record all the way straight.

While honoring the U.S. women’s soccer team for beating the competition and winning the 2015 World Cup, President Obama said the team had inspired boys and girls around the nation to dream big and play hard.

“This team taught all America’s children that ‘playing like a girl’ means you’re a badass,” the President remarked.

Though he sort of apologized for using profanity, Mr. Obama was excited because, as he put it, the women’s team “put America back on top of the soccer world.”

The achievements of girls and women should always be respected. The U.S. soccer played strongly and earned their title via determination, talent, and a great spirit. Girls and women have made great contributions in a myriad of ways throughout human history and true equality is a goal that we all want for humanity.

POTUS has no more Blanks To Give. He speaks his mind, and for that I love him for it.

Scream our accomplishments form the highest mountains! And let those screams rain down on our girls.

Now these women need to get paid just as much as the men who play soccer.
