Misty Copeland

Misty Copeland is absolutely winning. This year, the prima ballerina made history when she was named the first Black woman to become a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, celebrated a successful Broadway run, and graced one of the most beautiful magazine covers of the year. Copeland is an undeniable star, and her recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert shows she shines in any medium.

Joined by famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Copeland dazzled TV audiences as the pair performed “Courante” from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2.

Take a look.

Isn’t it just lovely?

I love to see black people excel in areas that have been “shut off” to us by different factors. Whether its academics, sports, or the arts. It’s for you, go get it!
