Donald Trump rally

Mercutio Southall, a #BlackLivesMatter protester, was punched and kicked at a Donald Trump rally in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday as the Republican frontrunner yelled, “Get him the hell out of here.”

Jeremy Diamond, a reporter with CNN, caught part of the incident on video and posted it on Twitter.

Here’s how CNN explained the scene:

Several attendees at the rally punched and kicked a protester who tried to disrupt Trump’s speech.

At least a half-dozen attendees shoved and tackled the protester, a Black man, to the ground as he refused to leave the event. At least one man punched the protester and a woman kicked him while he was on the ground.

All of the attendees who were involved in the physical altercation with the protester were white.

The protester appeared to be shouting “Black lives matter” and later removed his sweatshirt to reveal a shirt with those words.

At least one attendee shouted “all lives matter” as the protester was eventually led out by police officers on the scene.

When asked about the altercation, Trump basically told Fox & Friends the Southall deserved what he got.

“Maybe he should have been roughed up because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing,” Trump said. “The man that was — I don’t know, you say ‘roughed up’ — he was so obnoxious and so loud. He was screaming. I had 10,000 people in the room yesterday — 10,000 people. And this guy started screaming by himself.”

Trump added: “I have a lot of fans and they were not happy about it. And this was a very obnoxious guy, who was a troublemaker who was looking to make trouble.”

Southall told CNN what happened to him is indicative of what our country will look like if Trump wins the presidency.

“This is the ugly truth of America. It was there like literally and figuratively in black and white. We saw it. We see it daily,” he said. “It shows what kind of America we live in now and what kind of America it will be with Trump at the helm.”

    This looks staged to me.

The people that kicked and punched Mr Southall should have been arrested for assault.
Trump intensified the incident by encouraging the drunkards to “get him the hell out of here”. The whole rally should have been shut down.
Lets not forget, last month when the Prez traveled to Oregon to meet with the victim’s families of the mass shooting, white racists protested with guns in full view, while shouting slurs. If they had the right to protest in such a bold way, then Mr Southall deserved the same right to protest. He did not assault anyone. He was exercising a citizen’s right to protest.
