Last week it was revealed to the masses that Toya Wright gives estranged husband Mickey Wright aka Memphitz an “8-day hall pass” to do whatever he wants, cheating included. Despite knowing that this golden piece of ridiculousness was going to become public knowledge via Bravo’s new series Untying The Knot, the backlash must have reached unbearable levels because she later went on the radio to explain her decision.
Via the Rickey Smiley Morning Show:
“As far as the hall pass thing goes, I felt like I was already at the friend zone with Mickey,” she said. “We were moving in two totally different directions, so go ‘head! Do what you do. That’s what you wanna do. Because guess what? My focus is on my businesses, and my No. 1 priority is my daughter. You can’t get it together and it’s so much going on, I’m not about to be bothered with that. And let me set the record straight: That stuff never came about when things was all good.”
She basically said a lot of what she said was edited out of the show and that the hall pass idea only came about because she felt like she was already pushed to the nether regions of the friend zone. When she realized they were moving in two totally different directions she was just like, Go ahead fam! Do what you’re gonna do!
If you discover that you and the man you were once fused to via invisible tethering or unseen magnetic field have different ideas of what a relationship should consist of, shouldn’t your decision be to let homie go? If you feel like the person you’re with can’t be faithful to you because he’s completely incapable of controlling himself and it becomes apparent that monogamy is the hardest thing he’s ever attempted since cartwheels in ice skates without the rink, wouldn’t you show yourself the door and leave him to wallow in his sorry existence?
The question we have for you all – would you grant your husband or boyfriend some sort of laminated license to be ignorant and possibly bring you back an untreatable surprise afterwards? Sound off in the comments!
