Oprah Winfrey is the undisputed queen of the media, but her empire just got a little bit bigger. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Winfrey just inked a deal to finally bring her life story to the masses.
In The Life You Want, Winfrey will inspire “other people to live the highest, fullest expression of themselves,” something her entire brand is built upon. In addition to uplifting fans with shows like Super Soul Sunday and Masterclass on her TV network, Winfrey’s magazine often serves as a way for the media mogul to encourage people to “live their best life.”
The highly anticipated deal came with a super secret, and reportedly extremely large, book advance. As the Hollywood Reporter explained, “A Winfrey book likely netted one of the largest advances in publishing history. With the possible exception of Barbra Streisand, there’s no entertainment figure whose life story would generate as much interest — or as large an advance — as Oprah’s memoir.”
The Life You Want is scheduled to hit stores in January 2017, and will be the first release on Winfrey’s new publishing imprint, which will publish a hand-picked selection of nonfiction books each year.
